MY RAF DAYS AND AFTER | home
DUXFORD.
The Imperial War Museum Duxford.
The following photos were taken on our tour round the Essex
and Cambridgeshire area, whilst between houses, in 1998.
Above two photos are of my favorite aircraft,
when I was a child, during World War 2.
3 above photos, of the Concorde.
Badge of the Pratt & Whitney Engines, on the tool box.
The above, Harvard, brings back memories of when I worked
on the CO's at one of the stations I was posted to.
(It is a war museum), after seeing the innards we saw the front end.
This is the closest I have been to a flying bomb, but have seen them flying
over in London, and coming down some way from me.
The above 5 photos were of the USA aircraft building, recently opened in 1998.
WELL THATS ALL FOLK'S.
If you are looking for somewhere to stay in the Duxford area,
see below.
My name is Ross Ferguson of the Holiday Inn Express Cambridge-Duxford. I have visited your websites, as we are trying to form links with ex service personnel as well as active members of the forces. We are situated 1 mile from the Imperial War Museum at Duxford. We have special offers we would like to extend to your members and whilst I was on your websites I noticed that you hold a reunion each year. We have all the facilities you would require and as a brand new hotel only recently opened we wondered if we may be able to offer to host this event in the future. The accommodation is very modern and we also own a pub and restaurant
(with banqueting facilities) on-site called the Red Lion, who could cater for your reunion dinner perhaps.
